Take-back in Europe for products, batteries, packaging
The aim of recycling is to gain an environmental benefit by means of re-use, reconditioning or reclamation
of material. Dedicated recycling sites ensure that environmentally harmful components are properly handled
and securely disposed. Toshiba and its partners have contracted competent service providers to ensure the
best recycling of our products.
The information below reflects our current status of information, April 1, 2008 and is valid for TOSHIBA
TEC products sold by TOSHIBA TEC Europe Retail Information Systems respectively its subsidiaries,
branches and distributors in the respective country. The mentioned compliance schemes represent not
necessarily all existing schemes in the related country.
Austria
Products
In Austria, the national collection and recycling program for IT equipment is organized by several
compliance schemes: ERA, EVA and ERP. Toshiba customers can return their old equipment via ERA.

Batteries
In Austria, the collection and recycling of batteries is conducted by Umweltforum Batterien (UFB), an
industry association of battery manufacturers and importers. Toshiba customers can dispose of their used
batteries free of charge at their local municipality or they can return their used batteries at retail locations
where batteries are sold. For more information, please contact UFB.
Packaging
In Austria the national collection and recycling program for packaging is ARA. Toshiba customers can
dispose of their packaging waste at local packaging collection points or in dedicated disposal bins available in
some municipalities. For more information, please contact ARA.
Germany
Products
In Germany, customers can return their old equipment to TOSHIBA TEC Germany.

GmbH. Toshiba customers can dispose of their packaging waste free of charge at any local collection point,
